LOCAL MENTORS

We believe in learning from one another and sharing our unique gifts, talents, and experiences to further enrich one another lives. At Southwind Fields, we encourage each of our locals to have a mentor. For our City Locals, it may look like checking in once a week, maybe grabbing a burger or a cup of coffee, touching base and doing life together. Within the Southwind Local Society, mentors might lead a life group, teach a class, or simply join us for lunch.

Local Mentors are asked to complete a background check and an interview process with the Southwind Fields team. From there, mentors choose where and when they would like to serve and use their own unique gifts and talents to enrich the lives of our Locals. No matter how they’d like to serve, we can always find a way to make it happen.

In the future, it is our vision to introduce a secondary community to Southwind Fields where a variety of people who are retired, or who have a diagnosis of hearing and/or vision loss, can live and volunteer within the Southwind Fields community. We envision a partnership where adults with love to give and experience to share can not only build a custom home (through a partnership with Robare Custom Homes) on our campus (or chose to live in a tiny home), but pour into the lives of adults with learning differences living within the community.  This partnership allows for our "Local Mentors" to use their expertise and servant's hearts to further the independence, encourage fulfillment, and create a community of acceptance for those we serve.
